Their Story
Best of Chums is the creative inspiration of owner and designer Laura Millman. After 20 years as a designer in the women's and junior's market, Millman launched Best of Chums in 1997. Her goal was to create a cool and innovative children's clothing company that would demonstrate her own love of humor and fun.
Best of Chums roots its success in two areas: an offbeat sense of style and design and innovative packaging. The line combines 100% cotton garments, unique applique designs exclusive to Best of Chums and pioneering product packaging including aluminum "take-out" containers for the Chums-to-go sets.
Millman hand designs all of the appliques and logos. Further setting Best of Chums apart is the family atmosphere. Aside from the inspiration Millman receives from her daughters Andrea and Alison, husband Dan is the company CFO, sister-in-law Sara runs the company's Operations and Production, and family dog Otis serves as company muse.
