The drink, tea, is significant in nearly every culture around the world. It represents sincerity, sophistication, and timelessness. Because of these associations, we chose the name "tea" for our company.

Fusing worldwide cultures and modern design was a heartfelt concept of co-founder Emily Meyer. When her niece was born in Europe, Emily recognized that Olivia would undoubtedly discover world cultures and issues as part of her daily life. This recognition inspired Emily to design clothing for children that would be both familiar and worldly. At that point, tea was born.
Educated at Parson's School of Design, Emily has spent ten years designing for leading apparel companies such as Esprit, Gymboree, Ralph Lauren, and Perry Ellis. Leigh Rawdon, co-founder and also a world traveler, completes the partnership with significant experience in operations, marketing, and general management, as well as an MBA from Harvard.
Building on their design and business backgrounds, and the success of their first seasons, the founders are making their vision for tea a reality. Together, Emily and Leigh are working to bring the beauty of global cultures to children and families through the tea collection.
